Who owns a twins genetic information is a question asked by many identical twins. Since the genomes would basically be identical, if one identical twin has their genome tested, the results are out there to be discovered about the other twin. This question was tackled by identical twin researchers Arielle Schilit Nitenson, a PhD student in neuroscience at Brown University, and Samantha Schilit a PhD candidate at Harvard specializing in human genetics. After Samantha had a full genome DNA test, the twins disagreed about the privacy of the results. This lead to them writing this scienfic journal article in The Journal of Genetic Counseling titled [...]

It’s always best to rely on a professional laboratory to perform paternity testing. Look for a facility that features AABB accreditation to ensure trusted results every time. AABB only certifies facilities that have a well-known [...]
The Genes Underlying Autism Are Coming Into Focus
As researchers sequence, the DNA of thousands of kids with autism, dozens of genetic subgroups are emerging.
In late 2013, psychologist Raphael Bernier welcomed a 12-year-old girl and her parents into his office at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle. The girl had been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and Bernier had invited the family in to discuss the results of a genetic analysis his collaborator, geneticist Evan Eichler, had performed in search of the cause.
As they chatted, Bernier noticed the girl’s wide-set eyes, [...]
